Thomas J. Donovan
Thomas J. Donovan joined the firm as a partner in 2001. Prior to his death in 2008, he handled the defense of personal injury lawsuits for several national insurance carriers, the State Liquidation Bureau, and self-insured clients arising from general liability, products liability, and motor vehicle liability. Mr. Donovan had his own law practice for more than fifteen years, as well as having worked for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.
Mr. Donovan was an active member of the Commercial and Federal Litigation Section of the New York State Bar Association, and the Westchester County Bar Association. He had served as Chair of the Nassau County Bar Association Defendant’s Roundtable since 2001, and was a member of the Nassau/Suffolk Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Mr. Donovan also served as a mediator in the Commercial Division of Westchester County’s Supreme Court as well as an arbitrator in District Court in Hempstead. Mr. Donovan served as a Quartermaster, Second Class, in the United States Naval Reserve from 1967 to 1968.
